About
McKenzie Messer-Gilbert is a multimedia visual artist intertwining classic fine arts practices with historically feminine crafts. Her love of combining textiles with fine arts began with her education at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio where she earned her degree in Arts Education with a minor in Art History.
In addition to her art practice, McKenzie is an experienced educator teaching art in local schools. She strives to make art approachable to students of all backgrounds and experiences. To McKenzie, art is a way of life and hopes to demonstrate this to her students.
Her work is shaped by themes of grief, mindfulness, acceptance of lost, and discovering the depth of family ties.
McKenzie currently resides in Columbus, Ohio.
